ScanTec carries out non-destructive testing (NDT) on structures such as bridges, dams, buildings, roads and airport runways.  These mainly use high frequency Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) but may include seismic and resistivity techniques also.

High resolution GPR scanning is used to locate the following:

  • Locate reinforcing steel (rebar) position and depth
  • Bridge tendons
  • Cavity detection in structures
  • Crack and fracture detection
  • Corrosion detection
  • Moisture detection (qualitative only)
  • Delamination
