EM Survey Results Showing Relative Levels of Conductivity in Buried Timber Treatment Waste

ScanTec personnel have carried out commercial and research surveys for:

  • Landfill sites
  • Mine tailings sites
  • Petroleum contaminated sites
  • Woodwaste contaminated sites
  • Military – contaminated sites
  • Saline intrusion
  • Contaminated sediment in rivers and harbours

Geophysical techniques can be used to detect:

  • contaminant plumes
  • local geology (eg bedrock or aquitard depth)
  • preferrential groundwater paths
  • contaminant source material (drums, waste, ore)

ScanTec use the latest geophysical techniques and equipment available including:

  • Electromagnetic methods (surface and borehole)
  • Multi-electrode geo-electrical sounding (resistivity)
  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)
  • Magnetic surveying
